Ashraf Sobhi: Egyptian Clubs Will Gradually Return To Training In Mid-June

Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, has confirmed that clubs will gradually return to training starting from 15 June.

The Egyptian Premier League has been halted since 14 March as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise, reaching more than 14,000 cases in Egypt.

However, Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouy, had announced on Sunday that sports activities will gradually return in mid-June.

In alignment with the Prime Minister’s decision, Ashraf Sobhi confirmed that clubs will start to return to training on 15 June in hopes of resuming the Egyptian Premier League this season.

It’s worth mentioning that several clubs have already expressed their wish to cancel the league this season, including Al Masry, Ittihad of Alexandria, and Tala’a El-Geish.
