“I Borrowed Boots From Edmund Copson” – Stephen Appiah Admits

Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has admitted that, his first experience in football boot was a borrowed one from Edmund Copson during their formative years.

“During our days in colts, he had a big match and i wanted to play in boots but was not having one so i borrowed one from my good friend Edmund Copson.

Copson, was a member of the 2000 CAF Champions League winning squad of Hearts of Oak.

“It true i borrowed the boots from him because i wanted to have my first experience in boots. During the game i slipped and i raised my head to look at Copson who was in the stands.

“He warned me to use the boot well. After i decided not to look at him again because it will affect my performance,” he told Joy FM in an interview.

Appiah said, he has come and long way and no longer borrow boots but rather gives out boots to people.

“I thank God today i no longer borrow boots but have enough to share with people,” Appiah stated in the interview.

Touching on his relationship with his former club Hearts of Oak, Appiah said, he is yet to receive a call from the Board of Directors to help in any capacity.

“I will be willing to go back and help Hearts because they gave me the platform to show my talent so if they invite me why not i will make my self available,” he added.
